Pikey Peak Base Camp Trek Itinerary
Once you arrive in Kathmandu, our agent will receive you at TIA. You will quickly reach the hotel, where you can shower and relax. You will get a small briefing about how your journey will take shape from the next day. You can also stroll around Kathmandu city, an ancient city with so much culture and architecture to explore.
Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Dhap Bazaar (2850 m, 8 hrs)
The first task would be to drive from Kathmandu Dhap Bazaar. The road trip to Dhap Bazaar is filled with scenic landscape views.
Enjoy the view of the Sunkoshi River and as you approach the destination, you’ll see dense forests, terraced rice fields, small waterfalls, and rivers along the way. You’ll pass via Khurkot to Ghurmi and finally arrive at Dhap Bazaar located at a height of 2,850 m.
It will take around 8 hours to arrive at Dhap Bazaar via road. Stay overnight at a nice lodge in Dhap.
Day 2: Trek from Dhap Bazaar (2850 m) to Jhapre (2815 m, 4/5 hrs)
You will encounter two ways at Dhap. At this point, you need to choose the right path otherwise you may lose track. Here, one path leads to Solukhumbu while the other leads to Okhaldhunga.
For convenience, look at boards with arrows or simply follow the guide. Take the trail that directs you to Solukhumbu. The trekking officially begins from Dhap Bazaar. You will come across Sigane, from where get a remarkable view of the peaks of the Numbur Himal range.
The trail from Sigane takes you to the beautiful village of Jhapre at an altitude of 2,815 m. Jhapre is no less than a viewpoint that offers a lovely glimpse of Everest and Numbur. Besides the scenic view, explore the ancient Buddhist Monastery in Jhapre. Stay overnight.
Day 3: Trek from Jhapre (2815 m) to Pikey Base Camp (4,067 m, 5/6 hrs)
Wake up early in the morning to start the trek early. Today’s trek is going to be the difficult one compared to other days as you’ll cover quite a high altitude in a shorter time.
Walk uphill and reach Bhulbule at 3,500 m altitude where you’ll have lunch. Observe the spectacular surrounding for a while and then make your way through a steeper and narrow trail for a few hours to arrive at Lamoche.
Continue walking on the rough terrain along houses of stone, Mani Walls, and dense rhododendron forest. After a stiff ascend through winding trekking trails for about 4 to 5 hours, you’ll finally set foot on Pikey Peak base camp.

It’s time to bid goodbye to the enchanting mountains. Take pictures, and make videos for the last time. Have breakfast in the tent and pack your stuff to leave the base camp.
Descending from Pikey Peak Base Camp, you will head to Jase Bhanjyang. You will walk through rough terrain and beautiful rhododendron forests. Take a rest at Lamoche and continue the trek to Jhapre.

After a fulfilling breakfast, bid farewell to the locals who entertained you the other day. Thank them for their warm hospitality and head towards Junbesi.
While descending, enjoy the breathtaking view of beautiful villages, animals gazing, people engaged in their daily work, children playing, crops laid on the roofs and premises to dry, stone temples, praying flags, monasteries, and snow-capped mountain views. After 5 to 6 hours of scenic trekking, arrive at a hotel in Junbesi and stay overnight.
Day 6: Trek from Junbesi (2,680 m) to Phaplu (2,380 m, 5/6 hrs)
From Junbesi, walk parallel to Junbesi Khola to reach a suspension bridge. Cross the bridge and get to Beni Ghat.
Continue walking until you arrive in Phaplu. It normally takes 5 to 6 hours to reach Phaplu from Junbesi. Enjoy the evening and overnight at Phaplu.
Day 7: Drive from Phaplu (2,380 m) to Kathmandu (1350 m, 9/10 hrs)
At last, the trek ends today. From Phaplu, enjoy a scenic drive to Kathmandu. It’s gonna take around 9 to 10 hours to arrive in Kathmandu.
You can take small breaks and lunch on the way. You’ll be transferred to the hotel where you can shower and relax. Enjoy an authentic Nepali farewell dinner and call it a day.
